Core & Flow began with one reformer & six mats in a garden. Four years later we have specialist Pilates studios in London, Essex & North Yorkshire.

The company is led by Isla, who is comprehensively trained & has taught over 10,000 hours of Pilates & has a specialist interest in utilising Pilates for sports performance working with notable Athletes, Olympians, Footballers, Runners, Equestrians & many more fields

Alongside Isla are the Core & Flow team - all fully trained, specialist Pilates instructors & the nicest bunch of people you’ll ever meet.

We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that caters for all skill levels, body shapes and injuries.

We’re always looking to meet Pilates Instructors who are looking for a studio family. We hire from all different training schools & we hire people who match our Core & Flow ethos - classes led with kindness. We’re a close team of quality teachers, not a faceless collection of freelancers.

Training? Come & observe our classes. We welcome teachers in training and are always happy to have you in the studio, we can also offer you student pricing whilst you are undertaking your training.

FAQs

When should I arrive?
Please arrive at the studio 5 mins before the start of your class, if it’s your first class arriving 10 mins early will allow a little more time to have a chat with the instructor & enable us to talk you through how all the equipment will be used in a class.

Is there free parking?
Our Epping and Guisborough studios have plenty of free car parking on site. Chingford has no car park but there is pay and display parking on the high street.

I’m pregnant/I recently had a baby. Can I take part?
Absolutely. We don’t recommend starting Pilates more than 20 weeks into your pregnancy if you’ve not tried it before however you will be suitable for our specific pre & post natal courses & classes. You might be interested in our Maternity package. Please see our Membership page for details. All our instructors are very experienced in working with pre & post natal clients.

I have an injury, disability or health condition. Can I take part?
Yes - in the vast majority of cases we can adjust exercises to suit your needs and will always do our best to accommodate everyone. If you have any injuries, disabilities or health conditions please let the instructor know prior to the class starting. You can also contact us with any questions or if there’s anything you’d like to discuss.

Do I need a particular body shape or type to do Pilates?
No - this is an inclusive, welcoming and non-judgmental space where anyone can take part.

Can I try a class? How do I book?
Yes, you can book a one-off class, head to our book a class page

Can men take part?
Absolutely. Around 20% of our members are male. On the flip side, we also offer Women’s Only classes.

I’m new here, where do I start?
Welcome! You’re in safe hands. All our classes are mixed ability unless otherwise stated so you are welcome to come to any class. We do also run beginners classes & extremely popular beginners four week courses which are an excellent introduction to your Pilates journey,

Is there an age limit?
Pilates is beneficial for all ages and we’re proud to have a broad age range across our membership. We welcome anyone from the age of 14 upwards.

What’s the vibe in your studios?
Open, inclusive, community led & fun. Our ethos is always to lead with kindness. 

What style of Pilates do you teach?
We teach a blend of contemporary & classical work, basing all our classes on the original method taught by Jospeh Pilates but with contemporary development.

Do I need prior experience?
No - all our classes are suitable for all skill levels. Our instructors can adapt exercises according to your expertise, making them easier or more difficult. Please tell the instructor it is your first time before class begins. If you have any questions ahead of your first class, please contact us.

What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing and socks. Nothing loose hanging that could get caught in the equipment. Please remove necklaces and other jewelry. All other equipment is provided for you.

How long is each class?
50 mins

How many people are in each class?
It varies but most of our studios have a maximum capacity of 8 or 9. 

What training do your team have?
All of our instructors are highly qualified Pilates Instructors, from various training academies with many different specialisms between them. Looking to work with a particular team member? Get in touch!

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
You can read our full Terms & Conditions here. Classes can be cancelled or rebooked up to 12 hours in advance of the class via our booking platform. Our instructors & team members are unable to make changes to your classes on your behalf.

Do you cater for specific religious needs?
Please contact us to discuss this and we’ll do our best to accomodate.

Do you have early morning or after work classes?
Yes - classes start as early as 7am and finish as late as 8.30pm. When you create an account on our booking system, you’ll be able to see the full schedule for each studio and book your class. We also offer private appointments outside these times to suit you.

Are there package deals/discounts?
Yes - you can get discounts by booking blocks of classes or signing up for a monthly or annual membership. Check out our membership page for more info.
